Obviously the location. The pool are was excellent. The staff are to be applauded for their exceptonal cust svc.
Service was very very ordinary, some of the staff seemed to be doing you a favour by talking to you ( with one or two exceptions ), food was very ordinary , decor pathetic, I have better furniture in my garden than they have in the restaurant, Stayed in best room available ( no aircon ) waited 1 hour to get into room on arrival, only cleaned room again at 3.30 following day, could only get 1 bottle of mineral water in 3 days !! etc etc etc, @ $ 320.oo a night it's a joke. No wonder our overseas visitors feel they are being ripped off !!!! Recently returned from a trip to Europe this would certainly not be acceptable to them. I am afraid the lodge has a lot to learn about the hospitality business.
Position of hotel on the island
Way too expensive for what you receive- linen very old and worn -rooms not properly cleaned daily- showers leak all over bathroom floor.
The rooms were very spacious and clean The bed was enormous and comfy Location was central and easy to find Staff were friendly and helpful
Price of the movies were a little steep. Barista coffee's from the Resteraunt should be complimentary with the breakfast included.
Room clean and comfortable
We stayed on the first floor at the rear of the facility, opposite the Bar. It was comedian night. The volume was too loud and families with small children would not have appreciated the language or noise, (did not quieten down until 11.30pm).
Central location, fabulous breakfast included. Friendly staff.
It's only an hour from my front door They speak English Cooked breakfast included Large bathroom shower head, plenty hot water
No power points near single beds No reading lamps near single beds Bathroom shower supplies not checked and/or replenished Terrible Noise from Gov's Bar until late at night on Easter Saturday
The Chefs are both absolute magicians! Richard and his girls in the Restaurant are wonders, profesional and a pleasure.
Room cleanliness; look behind the blinds and in the corners. At $270 per night offpeak it should be so much better.
We all enjoyed the food.It is of acceptable quality. The room is very good,ie rooms 70 and 71. Breakfast was acceptable.I Cannot rate it on value as I am not aware of the price.
I was very dissapointed that you didnt warn us of the lack of air conditioning. Had I known I would not have paid so much money for the room. , in fact I would have stayed at home or found other accommodation, perhaps the other hotel has air The room was very hot with a very noisy ceiling fan. I certainly will not stay there again.
Not a lot really - it was very basic and is in need of a renovation.
Great meals, good to relax and chill out for once. Coming off Barrow Island fifo 4/1. I needed a break.
Enjoyed the history of the place, obviously great location. The breakfast was great, female waiter on both mornings was one of the most competent and friendly staff we have had the pleasure to meet on all our travels.
Convenient location, comfortable clean rooms. Nice lay out f room building. Quaint restaurant pool area. Resort/holiday atmosphere, a little dated but charming
Close to the beach.
I think for $300 a night for a quad room you expect a little more from the quality of the interior of the rooms.
